The MARC will host July backstroke clinic Saturday
The MARC will host their July backstroke clinic Saturday. The clinic will teach backstroke-specific skills to swimmers and will run from noon to 12:45 p.m. The clinic is one of three this month. The other clinics will focus on breaststroke, freestyle and body position.
Oakley City to host inaugural pickleball tournament this weekend
Oakley City will host their inaugural pickleball tournament Friday and Saturday. Players of all ages and abilities will compete in doubles at the Oakley rodeo grounds’ 12 courts. Friday, women’s doubles events will begin at 8 a.m., and men’s, at noon. Saturday, mixed doubles events will begin again at 8 a.m. Registration for the tournament closed July 1.
The MARC to host mountain biking camp next week
The MARC is hosting their Jedi Mountain Biking Camp next Monday through Thursday. Young riders will work on descents, jumps and technical skills, which are used most in enduro racing and downhill biking. The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day.
Deer Valley’s Brews and Tunes returns Saturday
Deer Valley Resort’s Brews and Tunes event returns Saturday from noon to 2:30 p.m. Patrons can enjoy beer, live entertainment and take-away food atop Bald Mountain at Snowshoe Tommy’s. A full-day scenic or bike lift pass is required to access the event. Brews and Tunes will run until Sept. 7.
Black Rock Ice Rink aims for December opening and hosting minor league hockey toward end of next season
The rink is scheduled to open in December, with the Outliers playing the final dozen home games out of 53 during 2024-25 season in these new Heber City digs.
