Park City police blotter: Landlord donates onetime resident’s items

The Park City Police Department last weekend fielded a complaint about an issue between a onetime resident and a landlord in the city.

The case was reported on Saturday, June 22, at 10:06 a.m.

The person moved out of a unit, apparently with the understanding “the landlord would hold her stuff” for 30 days, according to public police logs. The police were told the landlord donated the unspecified items after three weeks.



The department classified the case as a citizen assist rather than a criminal matter.

On Sunday, June 23, at 10:21 p.m., the police were called to Woodside Avenue, where someone reported it sounded like upstairs neighbors were “stomping around moving furniture” and chairs. The person who contacted the police “attempted to ask to stop and they keep doing it,” according to public police logs. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.

A police officer at 8 p.m. stopped a rider of an e-bike in the area of Three Kings Drive at 8 p.m. Public police logs did not provide details about the reason for the stop, but officers occasionally pull over bicyclists after observing violations of traffic laws.

A dog, described as a stray, was seen on Main Street at 5:54 p.m. It was “huskish looking,” the police were told. It apparently was wearing tags and an attempt was made to contact the owner. A little bit earlier, in an unrelated case, a dog, described as “big” with white fur was reported to be “running around” a parking lot on Kearns Boulevard at 5:31 p.m. The person who contacted the police was worried a driver would hit the animal.

Someone contacted the Police Department at 9:25 a.m. inquiring about parking rules at the Park City Library. The person apparently wanted to learn about the time limits at the location.

The police at 12:29 a.m. received information about music described as very loud” and “with strong bass” on Annie Oakley Drive. The department logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.

On Saturday, June 22, at 11:38 p.m., the police received a report from someone on Sunrise Circle about a person in a car “playing music.” The car remained at the location for at least 80 minutes and the person who contacted the police “did not see him get out,” according to public police logs. The police described the circumstances as suspicious.

Someone reported hearing fireworks in the area of Rotary Park in Thaynes Canyon at 9:38 p.m. The person requested an officer investigate.

The Police Department at 8:56 p.m. received a complaint about the noise from a commercial property in the Main Street core. The person was “demanding that an officer check decibel levels,” according to public police logs. The person also questioned whether the location holds the required permit regarding noise levels. The case was logged on Heber Avenue.

Water was reported to be “flooding the street” on Deer Valley Drive at 7:59 p.m. The water was “originating from the grass area” close to a bus stop, the police were told. The department indicated the water was a result of a utility issue.

The police at 5:46 p.m. received a report of someone leaving two dogs in a pickup truck bed on Lowell Avenue. They were there for approximately 20 minutes. The police were told one of the dogs “jumped out and is running at large,” department logs said.

On Friday, June 21, at 9:16 p.m., an officer stopped a driver in the area of Swede Alley and Heber Avenue, indicating there was an issue with a license plate. Public police logs showed there was an issue involving the transfer of the plate from a previous owner of the vehicle. The logs did not provide details about the outcome of the case.

The police at 12:38 p.m. received information about a wallet that was reportedly stolen from a vehicle on Gillmor Way. A window was open when the wallet was taken, the police were told.

Someone contacted the Police Department at 4:30 a.m. reporting a “banging noise” on Main Street. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.

On Thursday, June 20, the Police Department at 8:04 p.m. received a report of youngsters who were seen underneath a pine tree “playing” with fire along Windrift Lane. The police were told of a “strong odor of smoke” from the direction of the youngsters but no visible flames.

On Wednesday, June 19, at 10:32 p.m., a party with music described as loud was reported on Daly Avenue. The police logged the case as suspected disturbing the peace.

On Tuesday, June 18, at 5:50 p.m., the police received information about a person attempting to “break into” Bonanza Drive business through a back door. Public police logs did not provide details. The police said the circumstances were suspicious.

On Monday, June 17, at 2:16 p.m., a bicycle was reported to have been stolen. The case was logged in the Snow Creek area. Public police logs did not provide details.
