The Miners girls lacrosse squad is piling on awards this offseason, adding six all-state awards to their total.

Park City earned five all-American nods earlier this month. Head coach Mikki Clayton won, along with Chuck Iacobelli, Sophie Neff and Maddie McHenry.

Iacobelli, Neff, McHenry also were noticed by Deseret’s team, earning first-team selections. Sophomore defender Lily Yatkeman also made the first team.

Junior midfielder Megan Magee was a second-team selection. Sophomore midfielder Coco Crawford was an honorable mention.

The awards come on the heels of another strong season, 16-3, wherein the Miners reached the state finals

Park City will return 18 of its 22 players from this year and retool for another title run in 2025.

The selections were the third for Iacobelli and McHenry, who also made teams in 2022 and 2023. Yatkeman made her first first team as a freshman in 2023.

Iacobelli is off to play in college for Cal-Berkeley next spring.

Another big winner on June 20 was Olympus, who landed Deseret’s three most-coveted awards. Three of their players won Ms. Lacrosse 2024, the 5A player of the year and 5A playoff MVP.

Olympus is the Miners’ biggest rival. The Miners lost to Olympus for the 2022 state title. Park City got the win in the 2023 final for their second title in four seasons.

Lacrosse became a UHSAA-sanctioned sport back in 2021.

The 2025 Miners season will likely begin once more in mid-March. Their schedule has yet to be released for next season.
